How to Treble Crochet

A treble crochet (tr), also known as a triple crochet, is the next tallest basic stitch after the double crochet. If you have learned how to do the double crochet, this stitch should be easy to learn. Instead of adding one loop to your hook at the beginning of the stitch, you’ll add two!

Here is how to treble crochet with step-by-step instructions:

1. First, yarn over twice to add two loops to your hook. The arrow indicates the next stitch2. Insert the hook under both loops of the next stitch
3. Yarn over and pull it back through both loops of the stitch to add a loop to your hook4. There should now be four loops on your hook
5. Yarn over, then pull it through only TWO of the loops on your hook6. There should now be three loops on your hook
7. Yarn over, then again pull it through only TWO loops on your hook8. There should now be two remaining loops on your hook
9. Yarn over, then pull it through the remaining two loops on your hook10. You should now only have one loop on your hook. This is a tc !!
